Three years ago, Anne Herman launched A Thousand Hills Company with a desire to bring to market fresh, modern, and encouraging clothing designs founded on Biblical truth. She began designing and creating unique t-shirts and jewelry with a goal of inspiring and encouraging not just its wearers, but also those they would meet; providing what she calls “timeless truth to wear and share.”

“I named my company based on Psalm 50 and the message that the cattle on a thousand hills belong to the Lord,” she says. “I read this as we don’t have to worry or fear or be control crazy - God has it all in His good hands. Of course, I had no idea at the time that we would soon move to a small ranch in Boerne and have our own cattle…but it makes so much sense now as I reflect on my heart and the direction in which I was pulled to start A Thousand Hills.”

Shortly after moving to Boerne, Anne fell in love with the people, vibe, and opportunity of Boerne Handmade Market—where she found quite the robust local following. And as she began searching for a permanent location to call home for A Thousand Hills, she discovered Corner Cartel.

“I knew Corner Cartel was where I wanted to be as a permanent fixture. I’ve been here for over a year now and am looking forward to continuing to be a part of the co-op for many more to come…I just love all that we have going on here. It’s an exciting place to be!”

Aside from product design, marketing, and working at the shop, Anne also manages athousandhillscompany.com, where she runs her online store and writes devotional blogs.

“Through the website, I’m able to take product orders from across the nation and have even begun shipping items internationally, here recently. I’m grateful for platforms such as Facebook and Instagram where I can grow my shop, but my favorite part of all that I do is sharing my heart and faith with nearly 10,000 women through these platforms. I am so humbled that God allows me to do that and pray that my company and writing makes a difference in people’s lives for Him.”

Outside of work, you’ll find Anne enjoying her family’s newly renovated ranch home and barn; serving on staff at nineteen:ten church; tending to her Aberdeen cattle—Hazel, Rose, Charlotte and Pearl; supporting her two sons’ activities in college and at Boerne High School; or simply enjoying a gorgeous Hill Country sunset from the porch, alongside her husband and Buck, the Goldendoodle.

“This is a truly special place…but my favorite part of it all has to be the views and the sunsets. Here we are, two years after making the move, and I still take pictures of the sunset all the time. It’s just something that will never get old.”
