Our Owners:

Lifelong Boerne residents Paul and Nancy Holekamp opened Corner Cartel as the "Alte Stadt Mall" in 1990.  Being a family business, their daughters could often be found behind the register, tending to customers, and learning the ropes of a small business.

And as Boerne grew, so did the store and its purpose: what started as a small craft mall blossomed into a beautiful home decor and gift store with 7,000 square feet of ever-changing merchandise.

In addition to Corner Cartel, Paul and Nancy are also proud owners of Circle H Signs & Banners and the cleaning service, Maid in Texas.

Our Building:

In the early 20th century, the building now known as The Kutzer-Holekamp building existed as the Albert Kutzer Garage. The garage was one of the first in Boerne that provided maintenance and fuel for the town’s first automobiles.

The building was renovated in the 1960’s before being purchased—along with the rest of the adjacent area now known as Olde Town—by the Holekamp family.

The Holekamps first used the space to house one of two Holekamp Interiors locations, then later came the Alte Stadt Mall. Since 1990, the building has been home to Corner Cartel.

Our town:

Settled by German free-thinkers in 1848, modern-day Boerne remains deeply rooted in German tradition. Each year, Berges Fest, Oktoberfest, the summer Abendkonzerte performances by the Boerne Village Band, BierFest, and more serve to remind us of the culture of our founders.

Year-round, we’re blessed to have a bustling Main Street lined with amazing shops and even more amazing shop-keepers, who give back to our community at every turn.

Craft breweries, top-notch restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, and plenty of nature keep our town at the top of any Hill Country bucket list. But don’t take our word for it…pick a day (or three) and come explore it for yourself. Be sure to stop into Corner Cartel and say, “Hi!”, when you do!
